How To Choose Boxing Gloves - Selection And Maintenance
Gloves are divided into several types according to the type of use:
# Thai boxing, light contact, full contact
# MMA, grapling, ultimate matches
# Training gloves for punching bags
Boxing gloves that are used for boxing or fitness boxing have a classic oval shape and thumb coupled with space for other fingers. They can also be used for kickboxing or sparring in other combat sectors. The Thai boxing glove and its offshoots are more flat again with a thumb connection, but may protrude beyond the glove.
Ultimate and MMA gloves are designed to protect the joints, while allowing fingers to grasp the opponent's grip. They can be either "open" or "closed" / protected thumb. Models designed more for training sparring usually have maximum padding across the joints, at least partial thumb protection and good wrist fixation by wrapping cuff. Wrestling gloves are "lighter" with a loose thumb.
A special type of glove intended only for training on punching bags or laps is the so-called "bag gloves". Unlike sparing gloves, they have a thinner protective layer, a flatter shape for maximum contact with the bag, and a specially shaped padding that protects the joints and whole hand from shock absorption. The inner cotton fabric absorbs sweat perfectly while allowing good breathability. They are fastened to the elastic or solid Velcro, which fixes the wrist and prevents possible injury.
Size selection:
The weight of the glove corresponds in part to its size, the higher the glove, the more space the glove provides inside. We recommend that you also buy bandages that will strengthen and protect your joints on your hands. For boxing matches, however, we recommend buying a classic 10oz regardless of weight.

Material of gloves:
# Gloves made of synthetic material (PU) are the cheapest and suitable for beginners. Furthermore, the gloves are of medium quality, which are partly made of artificial leather and genuine leather. The most stressed upper part is made of leather, the remaining parts are made of artificial leather.
# Leather gloves made of genuine leather last the most (they are higher models), but they are also the most expensive. Purchase these types of gloves if you regularly train or want to practice martial arts.
